Kai and Yara need eggs, not hatched dinosaurs. Reserve three Dunkleosteus Eggs for Kai, then three Sea Eggs for Yara. Keep them out of the incubator if you need them for these hand-ins.

Requirements

For the Pacific Shovel route, prepare level 30, a Titanium Shovel, a fishing rod and bait. The final purchase costs 350,000 Coins, separate from obtaining the Titanium Shovel.

Steps

1. Find Kai the Tidekeeper behind Devonian Island. Accept his task and follow the marker to collect the Mosasaurus Skull on Cretaceous; return it.
2. Complete his 50 fish objective: shoes and bottles do not count.
3. Dig on Devonian for 12 Dunkleosteus Shards, convert them into three eggs at Dr. Ivy's lab and give them to Kai unhatched.
4. Speak to Kai after completing his tasks to access the Whirlpool and enter Panthalassa.
5. Visit Yara's Shellsmithy, to the right of the arrival point. For his three Sea Eggs, dig Panthalassa with the Titanium Shovel and take the shards to Dr. Ivy. Reserve the eggs for Yara.
6. Complete the next hand-in of one Nessie Fragment, which you can pick up in Panthalassa. Return to Yara and review the Pacific Shovel purchase.

Do not confuse the eggs required by each stage or spend the final balance assuming the quest gives you the shovel for free. Check the objective before converting shards.
