Quick answer
Build the Ammo Crate at a level 4 Crafting Bench to buy ammunition with Scrap. Its recipe requires 20 Wood, 30 Scrap and 1 Cultist Gem. That payment builds the crate; it does not automatically fund later reloads.
What to reserve
You need the unlocked bench, construction materials and extra Scrap for purchases. Check your weapon: Revolver Ammo, Rifle Ammo and Shotgun Ammo are separate categories. Do not spend your budget assuming any ammunition box supplies any gun.
Getting started
- Open the level 4 bench and confirm the Ammo Crate recipe.
- Craft it and place it somewhere accessible in camp.
- Open its ammunition purchase interface and select the type matching your gun.
- Check the displayed price before purchasing.
- Check your reserve change and reload the gun to confirm the ammunition matches.
Reference prices
Current references agree on these packs; your session's displayed price takes priority:
| Purchase | Scrap | Rounds |
|---|---|---|
| Revolver Ammo | 3 | 6 |
| Rifle Ammo | 3 | 6 |
| Shotgun Ammo | 20 | 6 |
The difference matters: maintaining a shotgun takes more Scrap per pack than the other two purchases. This does not measure damage per shot or total combat efficiency; price alone does not determine the better weapon.
Mistakes and success check
The crate does not generate unlimited ammunition just because you placed it. If construction leaves you without Scrap, replenish resources first. Also distinguish the required Cultist Gem from Gem of the Forest.
Editorial recommendation: try a small purchase before spending the team's entire reserve. Checklist: bench 4; checked recipe; accessible crate; purchase Scrap; correct type; reserve and reload checked.
