Quick answer

Equip the Hammer, target a compatible structure and check for a yellow highlight before picking it up and repositioning it. This tool reorganizes camp; you do not need to build another copy each time you want to change an object's position.

Requirements and obtaining it

One crafting route is the Tool Workshop anvil, using 5 Wood and 5 Scrap. Do not look for it as a normal recipe at the bench beside the campfire. Find the workshop, defeat its cultists and rebuild the anvil.

Steps

  1. Find the stone Tool Workshop building; once discovered, an anvil icon marks it on the map.
  2. Collect its three anvil pieces across the building's levels and drag them into the marked central area.
  3. Check the Hammer recipe and your session's cost before selecting it and contributing materials.
  4. Craft it and return to camp.
  5. Equip it, select a compatible structure and wait for the yellow highlight.
  6. Pick up and place the object in its new position. Check that camp services and the base entrance remain usable.

What it cannot move

Do not rely on it to reposition the Teleporter or pick up Bear Traps. Failure to move one of these objects does not automatically mean the hammer is broken. Also distinguish the construction Hammer from weapons with “Hammer” in their names.

One decision before decorating

Editorial recommendation: start with an object blocking a route or access to a service. Moving one piece and checking access avoids reorganizing half the base before knowing whether the new layout works. Keep attending to the campfire during changes.

Success check and checklist: rebuilt anvil; checked recipe; equipped Hammer; yellow target; object placed again; accessible entrance and services. If no highlight appears, check your equipped tool and the target's compatibility.
